Armin Grunwald
Armin Grunwald (* 20. Juni 1960 in Soest) ist ein deutscher Physiker und Philosoph. Er ist Leiter des Büros für Technikfolgen-Abschätzung beim Deutschen Bundestag, Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Technikphilosophie und Technikethik sowie Leiter des Instituts für Technikfolgenabschätzung und Systemanalyse am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie.
Nach dem Studium der Physik (Abschluss 1983) promovierte er 1987 zum Dr. rer. nat. an der Universität Köln mit einer Arbeit in der Theoretischen Festkörperphysik. Parallel zum Physikstudium studierte er Mathematik und Philosophie (Abschluss mit dem Ersten Staatsexamen 1991). 1998 wurde er an der Universität Marburg in Philosophie habilitiert und erhielt die Lehrbefugnis. Grundwald steht dem Kreis des Methodischen Kulturalismus um Peter Janich nahe.
Er ist Mitglied der Deutschen Akademie der Technikwissenschaften acatech.
