In risk studies, engineers often have to consider the consequences of an accident leading to a shock on a construction. This can concern the impact of a ground vehicle or aircraft, or the effects of an explosion on an industrial site. This book presents a didactic approach starting with the theoretical elements of the mechanics of materials and structures, in order to develop their applications in the cases of shocks and impacts. The latter are studied on a local scale at first. They lead to stresses and strains in the form of waves propagating through the material, this movement then extending to the whole of the structure. The first part of the book is devoted to the study of solid dynamics where nonlinear behaviors come into play. The second part covers structural dynamics and the evaluation of the transient response introduced at the global scale of a construction. Practical methods, simplified methods and methods that are in current use by engineers are also proposed throughout the book. The aim of this book is to present theoretical elements regarding solids and structures, as well as modeling tools in order to study the vulnerability of a structure to a short duration action, generally of accidental nature. The book takes the point of view of an engineer seeking for the modeling of the physics at stake to relevantly carry out his study. Patrice Bailly
Patrice Bailly, né en 1971, est un trompettiste et un compositeur français.
Il apprend très jeune le piano, la trompette et l’accordéon auprès de son père lui-même multi-instrumentiste. Suivant une formation classique au Conservatoire National de Région de Dijon, il approfondit l’étude de la trompette auprès du concertiste Thierry Caens. Après 11 années d’enseignement et de concerts en tant que soliste ou musicien d'orchestres classiques, Patrice Bailly décide de changer de voie et devient assez vite l’un des principaux trompettistes de jazz et de musiques improvisées de la scène française.[réf. nécessaire]
En tant que leader, il dirige plusieurs ensembles tels que le Patrice Bailly Trio (jazz), le Zazen Quartet (jazz moderne), Des Embouts et Des Becs (musique improvisée et musique contemporaine), le duo et quartet Transhumance (musique improvisée et musique traditionnelle), Mécanique Acoustique (musique non idiomatique) et Electro-Pop (Nu-Jazz) expérimentant ainsi composition instrumentale et improvisation. Son dernier album Les Croyances Liquides, nous plonge dans une atmosphère intimiste où l’artiste multi-instrumentiste pour l'occasion (guitares, trompette, claviers, programmation) livre sa vision sensible du monde qui nous entoure. Pour cet opus, Patrice Bailly a relevé un véritable défi : se charger de la réalisation de A à Z, composant, jouant, chantant, enregistrant dans son home-studio, puis produisant et distribuant l’album sur internet.
Quant à sa production, Les cordes absentes, celle-ci propose une musique rythmée et mélodique. L'utilisation sur scène ou en studio des machines, effets divers comme la saturation, écho, ainsi que les rythmiques électro ou trip hop mélangées aux délicates mélodies inspirées des folklores du monde n'est pas sans rappeler des trompettistes comme Niels Peter Molvaer ou Jon Hassel, le classant dans l'univers des musiques Nu-Jazz, Electro-Jazz.
Il met fin à sa carrière de trompettiste et de musicien professionnel en avril 2011. Il n'arrêtera pas ses passions que sont la musique, l'écriture, et la photographie qu'il poursuivra en amateur.
Sont disponibles des musiques instrumentales , ainsi que des chansons qu'il compose et dont il écrit les textes, ou bien des chanson des autres qu'il aime particulièrement et qu'il remix à sa manière.
