Andre Roy (born February 8, 1975 in Port Chester, New York) is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays left wing for the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.

Andre's parents Gilles and Heidi have 2 other children, Marc and Kevin. Although born in Port Chester NY, Andre was raised in Saint-Jerome, Quebec and speaks fluent French. Andre played his minor league hockey in the QMJHL.

He was married to Karine Labelle on July 23rd 2005. They have a daughter, Maelie. After winning the Cup he used his day with it to present a engagment ring to his future wife Karine.

Playing career

Roy was drafted by the Boston Bruins, 151st overall in the 6th round, in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft and has also played for the Ottawa Senators, the Tampa Bay Lightning (where he won the Stanley Cup in 2004) and the Pittsburgh Penguins. During the 2006–2007 season, Roy was placed on waivers by the Penguins and claimed by the Lightning, where he has become a popular, though seldom used, enforcer. Roy is currently off the Tampa Bay Lightning official roster, after a fallout with former coach John Tortorella. In an away game against the Flyers, Roy fought Riley Cote twice. After being knocked down from a punch in the latter fight, Roy made a "cutting throat" hand gesture toward Cote while on the bench. John Tortorella had to physically remove Roy from the bench. For the rest of the 2007-2008 season, Roy was a healthy scratch. On July 20, 2008, Roy signed with the Calgary Flames.
