A Professor Emeritus at City University, London, Andrew Chambers also heads *Management Audit Ltd., a British consultancy, education provider, and publishing house. He is a prolific author in the field of internal auditing and *corporate governance, and his writing tends to have a practical orientation. His books include a coauthored standard reference for Operational auditing, The Operational Auditing Handbook: Auditing Business Processes (Chambers and Rand, 1997), and a coauthored overview of modern internal auditing, Leading Edge Internal Auditing (Ridley and Chambers, 1998). He is also a vocal critic of corporate governance initiatives of which he disapproves. On the United Kingdom’s *Hampel Report, for example: "Getting to the heart of the ‘final’ Hampel report is like groping one’s way into a hay stack only to find it largely hollow at its core" (Chambers, A., 1998).
