Fly Fishing the Stock Market. How to Search for, Catch, and Net the Market's Best Trades

How the strategies and tactics of fly fishing can translate to improved trading performance Much like trading, successful fly fishing requires both an understanding of«big picture» conditions and the ability to implement tactical techniques to actually catch the fish. In Fly Fishing the Stock Market, Dr. Stephen Morris compares his method for trading stocks with his favorite past time, fly fishing—providing fresh insights into his successful trading approach.Engaging and accessible, this book skillfully describes how Morris applied this approach to generate an astounding 268% growth in his account in the volatile and confusing, post-financial crisis markets. Morris explains how he uses technical indicators to determine what he calls the «market season» and how he then zeros in on individual stock patterns to make his trades. He also reveals unique tools, such as the Market Timing Monitor and Weather Station, which give him a sense of the market's long-term condition and provides the basis for his trading and risk management strategies. Filled with the authenticity of a real trader figuring out how to uncover profitable trading opportunities A companion Website contains supplementary material that allows you to learn in a hands-on fashion long after closing the book Provides a compelling portrait of how a successful trader thinks about markets, develops a method, and then implements the method in real time The author's spectacular returns are backed by publicly documented records Just like fly fishing, traders must adjust their approach constantly because market conditions constantly change. This book will help you achieve this elusive goal, and capture consistent profits in the process.

Stephen Paul David Morris (born 28 October 1957 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England) is a musician in the Manchester based rock band New Order. Although he is primarily a percussionist, he also plays keyboards. He also drummed in the band from which New Order was formed, Joy Division, and in The Other Two, a band made up of Morris and his wife, Gillian Gilbert. Morris is known for his machine like drumming that is seamlessly woven with New Order's drum machine sounds.

He attended the same school in Macclesfield as Joy Division vocalist Ian Curtis and was expelled for abusing cough syrup. Early on, Morris was a strong contender to become New Order's lead vocalist, and his voice can be heard on some early tracks (especially live versions). He also contributed musically to as-yet-unreleased demos by fellow Mancunians Quando Quango.

Something of an eccentric, Morris has been called "daft as a brush" by bandmate Peter Hook. Morris reportedly used some of his fortune to purchase several military vehicles. He and Gilbert live in Rainow, outside Macclesfield. Together they formed the side-project The Other Two.

They have together two daughters, Tilly and Grace. Grace has transverse myelitis, which has effects similar to a spinal injury. The disease initially left Grace paralysed from the waist down, but Grace has largely recovered and can walk unaided, but she still continues to need care and treatment. Consequentially Gillian has stayed home and not toured with the band since 2001. [http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/reports/misc/today_fifty_stephen_morris_20070531.shtml]

In 2007, Morris and Gilbert remixed two tracks for the Nine Inch Nails remix album "Year Zero Remixed".
