Carluccio
Antonio Carluccio, OBE, (* 1937 in Vietri sul Mare, Salerno) ist ein in London ansässiger italienischer Koch und Lokalbetreiber.
Carluccio wurde in Süditalien geboren, übersiedelte aber mit seinem bei der Bahn angestellten Vater und wuchs im Piemont auf. Mit 21 ging er nach Wien um Sprachen zu studieren. Von 1962 bis 1975 lebte er als Weinhändler in Hamburg. 1975 zog er als Importeur italienischer Weine nach England, wo er 1981 Manager von Terence Conrans Neal Street Restaurant in Covent Garden wurde. Seit 1989 ist er der Besitzer des Lokals. Seine Frau Priscilla (Conrans jüngere Schwester) und er eröffneten 1991 ein italienisches Lebensmittelgeschäft namens „Carluccio's“ und betreiben seit 1994 auch einen Großhandel. Das erste „Carluccio's Caffé“ wurde 1999 eröffnet, inzwischen gibt es eine Reihe weiterer im südöstlichen England.
Antonio Carluccio ist Autor mehrerer Bücher über die italienische Küche und hatte Auftritte im Food and Drink Programme der BBC und in einer eigenen Fernsehreihe. Er ist seit 1998 Träger der Auszeichnung Commendatore dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana der italienischen Regierung für seine Leistungen für die italienische Lebensmittelindustrie.
