Susan Price

Susan Price, born 1955 in Dudley in the West Midlands, is an award-winning English writer of novels for young adults. She also writes for younger children. She still lives in the Black Country.

Many of Susan Price's works are fantasy, from science-fiction to ghost stories; some are historical novels; others are about animals or everyday life. Many of her short stories are re-tellings of tales from folklore.

In her most celebrated novel "The Sterkarm Handshake" and its sequel "A Sterkarm Kiss" time travel leads to conflict between a 21st century corporation and a 16th century border clan. A third Sterkarm novel is in progress. The Pagan Mars Trilogy is set in a scientifically-advanced alternative world where the pagan gods are still worshipped and slavery - called bondery - is commonplace.
