Leben
Nach dem Studium der Klassischen Philologie und Archäologie an den Universitäten Athen und Oxford sowie der Papyrologie bei Peter J. Parsons, das er mit dem D.Phil. abschloss, war Yatromanolakis zunächst Junior Fellow der Society of Fellows der Harvard University. Nunmehr ist Yatromanolakis Associate Professor im Department of Anthropology und im Humanities Center. Außerdem ist er Faculty Associate des Department of the Classics der Harvard University.
Forschungsschwerpunkte
Yatromanolakis arbeitet zur archaischen und klassischen griechischen Literatur, insbesondere Sappho, und ihren Performance-Kulturen, zur Vasenmalerei und den Vasenaufschriften, zur griechischen Papyrologie und Epigraphik sowie zur historischen und vergleichenden Anthropologie, insbesondere zur Ritualpoetik. Weitere Interessen betreffen die altgriechische Dialektologie, die Sprache und Kultur der Lyder, die vorsokratische und die Platonische Philosophie.
