Книга: Rebecca Front «Curious»

Curious

CURIOUS is a collection of delightfully witty stories by actress, comedy writer and columnist Rebecca Front. Rebecca has always used anecdotes from her own life to inform not only the characters she plays in such series as THE THICK OF IT and NIGHTY NIGHT, but also her frequent observational comment pieces for the GUARDIAN, INDEPENDENT and other magazines. In CURIOUS, she takes those characters further, exploring and delighting in the absurdities of life, the oddities of human nature. Rebecca's acutely observed, refreshingly honest and deliciously funny take on contemporary life will delight her fans and win her many new ones.

Rebecca Front

Rebecca Front (born June 28, 1965) is an English comedienne and actress, perhaps best known for her roles in "On The Hour", "The Day Today", "Fist of Fun", "Knowing Me, Knowing You...with Alan Partridge", "Monkey Dust" and "Time Gentlemen Please".

She has also made appearances on "I'm Alan Partridge", "The News Quiz", "Have I Got News For You", "Big Train", "If I Ruled The World", "The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer", "Monkey Trousers", "Nighty Night" and "Absolutely Fabulous". She has also portrayed 'straight' acting roles in television drama, including "You Can Choose Your Friends", "The Rotters' Club", "Kavanagh Q.C.", "Lewis", and "Jonathan Creek".

Front became involved in comedy while at Oxford University. She toured with the Oxford Theatre Group in 1984, taking part in the revue "Stop the Weak". The tour played in Oxford itself; the Gate Theatre, Notting Hill (where it was seen by Mick Jagger, Julie Walters and David Bowie); Edinburgh; Salisbury; and Romsey. The Oxford Revue of the early 1980s was the nursery for a number of comedians who went on to achieve UK success: the "Stop the Weak" cast included Patrick Marber who was to later work with Rebecca Front in "The Day Today", while David Schneider, also in "The Day Today", was a member of the 1985 Revue cast. Armando Iannucci, "The Day Today"'s director, was a member of the 1986 Revue.

In 1985, Front teamed up with Sioned Wiliam and Jon Magnusson to take the show "The Bobo Girls go BOO" to Edinburgh. In 2003, she was listed in "The Observer" as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy.

Since 2006, she has been contributing columns to "The Guardian".

In 2007, she guest-starred in the "Doctor Who" audio drama "The Mind's Eye".

Personal life

Front is married with two children.
