David E. Carter

David E. Carter is an entrepreneur and writer who is a considered an expert on graphic design, logo design, and corporate branding and the "pioneer" of trademark and logo books.[1][2] He has written over 100 books in the field and his books are distributed in as many as 120 countries and used in college classes in more than 20 countries.[3][4]

Carter has founded several companies including David E. Carter Inc. which an identity consulting firm based in Ashland, Kentucky, with affiliate offices in Bangkok, Thailand; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Caracas, Venezuela. He has conducted corporate identity seminars for Advertising Age on four continents including in the cities of New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Helsinki, São Paulo, and Singapore.[1][5]

David Carter has produced programs for PBS and over a dozen sketches for the Johnny Carson Show. He has received 2 Clio Awards, a national Emmy Award for his work on the Johnny Carson Show, and six regional Emmys.[4][6]

The David E. Carter Creativity Center and Museum was dedicated on October 21, 2005 at Ohio University’s Southern Campus in Ironton, Ohio and includes memorabilia from his life and career.[7]
