Edmund Garratt Gardner

Edmund Garratt Gardner, (1869-1935), was an English writer who specialised in Italian history related topics.

His works include:
* "The story of Florence", dealing with Florence, Italy.

He was known as the Giant of Oxford due to his height : he was precisely 6 feet 4½ inches tall. He died in 1935 after an unfortunate boating accident aboard his sloop the "Crabbygal".
