Amistad
La amistad es el amor, pero sin sus alas.
Amor
El amor en la vida del hombre es un episodio; en la mujer es toda la existencia.
En su primera pasión la mujer ama a su amado; en todas las demás sólo ama al amor.
Animal
Aquí reposan los restos de una criatura que fue bella sin vanidad, fuerte sin insolencia, valiente sin ferocidad y tuvo todas las virtudes del hombre sin ninguno de sus defectos. (Epitafio para un perro.)
Destino
Luchar contra nuestro destino sería un combate como el del manojo de espigas que quisiera resistirse a la hoz.
Duda

No hay cosa más incierta que el número de años de las señoras que se dicen de cierta edad.
Fracaso

No faltan los que mueren por una meta elevada.

Los que mueren por una causa justa y noble nunca quedan frustrados.
Libertad
Aunque me quede solo, no cambiaría mis libres pensamientos por un trono.
Memoria
El recuerdo del gozo ya no es gozo, mientras que el recuerdo del dolor todavía es dolor.
Muerte
Lo que llamamos muerte es una cosa que hace llorar a los hombres; y, sin embargo, se pasan un tercio de su vida durmiendo.
Naturaleza
El arte, la gloria, la libertad se marchitan, pero la naturaleza siempre permanece bella.
Pareja
El matrimonio es el resultado del amor, como el vinagre del vino.
Verdad
Es extraño, pero es verdad, porque la verdad es siempre extraña, más extraña que una ficción.
