George Orwel is a Brooklyn, New York City, New York-based reporter who writes for several oil-industry publications and has appeared on national cable news programs, such as CNN, as an oil analyst. In November 2007 allegations Orwel had plagiarized Wikipedia in his 2006 book "Black Gold: The New Frontier in Oil for Investors" were reported by the New York Times and confirmed by his publisher, John Wiley & Sons. [cite web |url=http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/19/technology/19wiki.html?_r=1&oref=slogin |title=Part of an Oil Book Relied on Wikipedia New York times |accessdate=2007-11-24 |date=2007-11-19 |author=Noam Cohen] The Times reported Orwel's book included several paragraphs almost verbatim from a 2005 version of the Khobar Towers bombing article. [ [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Khobar_Towers_bombing&oldid=33336249 2005 version of the Wikipedia Khobar Towers bombing article] ] The publisher said the mistake was not intentional and promised to include attribution for those few gaps in later reprints.
