The Moscow Museum of Modern Art is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of Jacques. Lipchitz, an outstanding avant-garde sculptor of the 20th century and a prominent representative of the School of Paris, to be held in Russia. Lipchitz was one of the most notable sculptors who adopted the principles of Cubism and persistently applied them in his works, gaining recognition from both connoisseurs and the general public. Later, moving away from Cubism, he kept his expressiveness and daring approach to form.. Published to coincide with the exhibition in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the present edition reflects on the history of sculpture in the 20th century, factors that shaped its development, and Lipchitz's circle of artists and friends, who influenced his approach.
