The Ebb-Tide" is a short novel co-written by Stevenson and his stepson Lloyd Osbourne. The plot revolves around three men down on their luck in Tahiti. All of them agree to ship out on a vessel whose officers died of smallpox, but on the way, they decide to steal the ship and its cargo. Naturally, this doesn't end well..
