Set in Europe near the end of eighteen century, the novel" Barry Lyndon" tells the story of Redmond Barry of Bally Barry, a clever young man and a member of Irish gentry, who tries his luck in every way possible. For the decades he travels all around Europe trying on the roles of a soldier, gambler, and even a vagrant.
