The Virgin and the Gypsy&The Rocking-Horse Winner

Серия: "Original"

David Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930) was an English novelist, poet, playwright and literary critic, one of the key writers of the early twentieth century, most famous for his criticism of rationalism and industrialization. Considered a masterpiece, "The Virgin and the Gipsy" is one of most electrifying short novels, demonstrating the author's approach to sexuality and morality. The book tells the story of a young English girl from the countryside, who wants to find something thrilling beyond her ordinary life. When she meets a handsome young gypsy whose life appears different from hers in every way, she is immediately intrigued and at the same time frightened by new feelings.
