It was a stylistically diverse exhibition, with Cubist-inspired works and the first nonobjective paintings and reliefs.`In Search of 0, 10`accompanies a show at the Fondation Beyeler, which includes a large number of the works from the original exhibition. The catalogue features essays by exhibition curator Matthew Drutt and other leading scholars, as well as documents gathered together and translated for the first time. Der Hatje Cantz Verlag mit Stammsitz in Ostfildern bei Stuttgart ist mit einem umfangreichen Verlagsprogramm zur Alten Kunst, zur Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts, zur Zeitgenössischen Kunst und den neuen Medien sowie zu Fotografie, Architektur und Design einer der national und international führenden Fachverlage für Kunst.
Das Verlagsprogramm zeichnet sich durch künstlerisch anspruchsvolle und wissenschaftlich fundierte Publikationen aus. Neben Künstlerbüchern hat sich Hatje Cantz vor allem durch wissenschaftlich-publizistische Kooperationen mit führenden Museen, Galerien und Instituten im Bereich der Ausstellungskataloge zum „Spitzenreiter“ entwickelt.
Zum Verlagsprogramm zählen kunsttheoretische Publikationen und mehrbändige Werkverzeichnisse bedeutender Künstler wie Kurt Schwitters Catalogue raisonné, Gerhard Richter und Standardwerke zu Künstlern wie Rubens, Chagall, Picasso, Giacometti und Erwin Wurm wie auch zur Epoche des Biedermeier.
Verlagsgeschichte
Gerd Hatje gründete im Jahr 1945 den Humanitas Verlag, in dem Novellen, Romane und Stücke der Weltliteratur erscheinen. Ab 1947 firmierte dieser als Verlag Gerd Hatje. Bereits in den fünfziger Jahren entdeckte Gerd Hatje die Bildende Kunst, moderne Architektur und internationales Design für sein Verlagsprogramm.
Im Jahr 1990 verkaufte Gerd Hatje im Alter von 75 Jahren seinen Verlag an die Dr. Cantz’sche Druckerei. Zunächst wurde der Verlag unabhängig von Cantz weitergeführt. Die Kunsthistorikerin Annette Kulenkampff übernahm 1995 die Programmplanung und später die Geschäftsführung. Mit internationalen Kontakten und Erfahrungen in der Kunstwelt gab sie dem Programm neue Impulse. 1999 gründete Kulenkampff die Hatje Cantz Verlag GmbH & Co. KG. Das Programm wurde ausgebaut, die weltweite Zusammenarbeit mit großen Museen intensiviert.
2003 erfolgte der Ausbau der Collector’s Editions. Es erschienen Fotoarbeiten, Grafiken und Multiples in limitierter Auflage. Im Jahr 2005 beging der Verlag sein 60jähriges Jubiläum und den 90. Geburtstag von Gerd Hatje. Der Hatje Cantz Verlag eröffnete 2006 ein Verlagsbüro in Berlin. Die Leitung hat die Kunsthistorikerin Cristina Inês Steingräber.
Nach der Insolvenz der Mutterholding J. Fink 2010 wurde Hatje Cantz 2011 an die Ganske-Verlagsgruppe verkauft.[2]
