The Social Network Business Plan. 18 Strategies That Will Create Great Wealth

All of us know that users of the Web do not read advertisements on the websites we visit, yet the online communities are emerging as the next great media rely solely on this method to produce revenue. In The Social Network Business Plan, social network expert, David Silver presents and explains 18 cutting-edge methods to create revenue for social network websites–none of which are advertising. He also predicts the demise of seemingly successful online communities such as MySpace and Facebook that rely on advertising as non-sustainable modalities. Silver describes and explains that in the future new products and services will be introduced, talked about, rated, reviewed and recommended – or killed – by online communities. One example of the 18 new revenue channels that online communities are adopting is the sale to vendors of anonymized conversations of the community members concerning those vendors'products or services. Another example is online communities who partner with the internet providers to receive payment when a particular online community's information is downloaded usinf that providers service. The other sixteen revenue channels are equally head-turning! Silver is the only angel investor, operating down where the rubber meets the road, who is investing in online communities in their infancy, and writing about which ones will win and which ones will fail.

David Silver

David Silver (Born Early 1975) is a fictional character from the "Beverly Hills, 90210" franchise, introduced in the first show. He was portrayed by Brian Austin Green. David is the step-brother of Kelly Taylor—becoming so after his father married her mother—and is also the youngest of the group of friends. During high school David is one year behind the rest of the group as he is one year younger; he later catches up to them academically by taking a double course load that allows him to graduate with the class of 1993. He then enrolls at California University with the rest of the core group.

High School Years

David starts out his freshman year in high school with one friend, Scott Scanlon. He tried to become friends with the core group of the show, who are sophomores. David became part of the in crowd while Scott remained a geek, until his accidental shooting death in the middle of his and David's sophomore year. David and Donna's friendship turned into romance. David had problems throughout the series with drugs and alcohol, and in Season 5 it was revealed he inherited some self-destructive tendencies from his mother, who was manic depressive.

Relationships

David was involved with many women during the series but he only ended up with the one woman he truly loved, Donna Martin.

Post High School

After graduating from CU, David began running the Peach Pit After Dark, but his terrible business skills led the club into financial ruin, and his plan to make his name in the recording industry (something he had had great highs and lows with in previous seasons) ended when he refused to back a band whose members turned out to be neo-Nazis. He went from working odd jobs to being a music critic to getting another big break in the music biz to writing commercial jingles to the job that carried him to the end of the season as an FM radio disc jockey. When he was not dating Donna, he was involved with regular characters Clare Arnold (Season 5), Valerie Malone (most of Season 6 and 8), and Gina Kincaid (some of Season 10) and also dated numerous other guest characters. But Donna was his true love, and he was hers, and they finally got married in the series finale. In the new series, it is still unknown if David and Donna are still married. But Donna does have a baby and it is unknown if David is the father.
