Jaht Eichmannile

Adolf Eichmann (1906–1962) oli Saksa Riigi Julgeoleku Peaameti ametnik ja Riikliku Salapolitsei osakonna B IV ülem, kes vastutas natsionaalsotsialistliku Saksamaa rassipoliitika ja inimsusevastaste kuritegude elluviimise eest. Pärast maailmasõja kaotust põgenes Eichmann Saksamaalt ja asus valedokumentidega elamaArgentinasse, kus ta võttis nimeks Ricardo Klement. Noore juudiriigi luureasutused näitasid aga oma tipptaset, tehes kindlaks Euroopast pagenud Eichmanni elukoha, vangistasid ta seal ja toimetasid seejärel salaja Iisraeli, kus ta kohtu alla anti. Eichmanni 1961. aasta kohtuprotsessi Jeruusalemmasjälgis kogu maailm. Eichmann mõisteti süüdi sõjakuritegudes ja inimsusevastastes kuritegudes ning poodi järgmisel aastal üles. See on ainuke kord, kui Iisrael on surmanuhtluse täide viinud. Neal Bascomb kirjeldab neid sündmusi päeva ja minuti täpsusega. Neal Bascomb (born 1971) is an American journalist and author. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Miami University with a B.A. in Economics and English Literature . After graduation, he worked as a journalist in London, Paris, and Dublin. He was an editor for St. Martin's Press, and in 2000, he began writing books full-time. His books have ranked on a number of bestseller lists, been optioned for film, and been published in over 15 countries. He has contributed to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and the Los Angeles Times.

He currently lives in Philadelphia.
