In this research work an attempt was made to prepare once a day formulation of gliclazide. The purpose was achieved by making mucoadhesive microcapsules of gliclazide. A combination of polymers, sodium alginate, sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, hydoxy propyl methyl cellulose and carbopol 934P was utilized for this purpose.
