The present study included all pregnant women with confirmed cardiac disease admitted over a period of two years,There were a total of 50 cases. 35 (70%) were acquired heart diseases and 15 (30%) were congenital heart diseases. Majority of the patients belonged to the age group 21-30 years (62%) and were from poor socio economic class (94%). Primigravidas constituted the bulk of the study population (64%).
