Biography

1994–1998: Early career and Skua

Initially Cattermole had dreams of being a rugby star. Like Hannah Spearritt, Cattermole was a member of the National Youth Music Theatre and appeared, alongside Spearritt, in "Pendragon" (1994).

Cattermole's previous jobs before S Club 7 included being a paperboy, a postman, a butcher, a theatre doorman, a dustman and a toilet cleaner.[citation needed] He did a theatre and acting course at the Mountview Drama School. While at Mountview he was the frontman for nu metal band Skua which together with school friends he had been part of since the early 1990s. He was spotted by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment when he appeared in a show there and was asked to audition for S Club 7.

1998–2005: S Club 7, Return to Skua, Charlie Bullett and Shed 7

He co-starred in the group's own TV series - Miami 7 (1999), L.A. 7 (2000), Hollywood 7 (2001) and the first four episodes of Viva S Club (2002). He took part in two UK tours, and won two BRIT Awards.

Cattermole was the first to leave S Club 7, in June 2002. He rejoined his old band Skua. However, with just a few concerts and a brief recording session, Skua split up less than a year later. Cattermole re-emerged as the lead singer and songwriter of a rock band called Charlie Bullitt. Throughout most of 2005 the group performed in a number of clubs and pubs in London, Brighton and Aberdeen - but they failed to attract any significant attention, and in October 2005 Cattermole left the group. In 2003 he moonlighted on drums with a newly reformed Shed 7.

2005–present: DJing, S Club 3 and Solo material

Cattermole split up with Hannah Spearritt, his S Club 7 bandmate, in early 2006; after dating for six years. In October 2007 an official MySpace page appeared for Cattermole, containing four new songs co-written with his friend Lee Turner.

In the run-up to Christmas 2007, Cattermole and Bradley McIntosh undertook DJ sets at the University of Winchester Christmas Ball (1 December) and at 'The Old Firestation', the club for the Bournemouth University Students Union (10 December).

Cattermole digitally released an EP, You Make Me Happy, built up of the songs sampled on his MySpace page in September 2008. He joined up with former bandmates Jo and Bradley to form 'S Club 3' in 2008.

Cattermole sang with his own band at a charity concert called 'The Sounds of Summer' at 'The Lord Taverners' club in London on July 27, 2011. He implies in a YouTube video interview promo that he is planning to launch more musical material.

Personal life

From 2001 to 2007, Paul dated bandmate, Hannah Spearritt.

In 2006 Cattermole revealed that he and Sunderland and England Under-21 footballer, Lee Cattermole, are cousins.

Paul is a collector of unusual animals and has a pet boa constrictor.
