Robinson, Peter

(1953- )
   The son of a vicar, he was born in Salford, Lancashire, and brought up mostly in Bootle and Garston, Liverpool. In 1996 he edited the anthology Liverpool Accents: Seven Poets and a City, in tribute to the place he still calls home. After graduating from York University in 1974, he edited the poetry magazine Perfect Bound, helped organize several Cambridge International Poetry Festivals, and in 1988 was advisor to the Poetry International at the South Bank Centre, London. He taught for a while at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and at Cambridge University. He now lives with his family in Japan, where he teaches English literature and English as a second language at Tohoku University in Sendai.
