Great Power Politics and Norwegian Foreign Policy is the first comprehensive analysis of Norway's foreign relations during a formative period in Scandinavian and European history: November 1940 - February 1948. Drawing on a wide range of so far unused source material. Udgaard gives a lucid account of the problems facing a small country in its relations with both the Great Powers and smaller neighbour countries. He analyses the internal and external factors influencing Norwegian foreign policy during and after the war, and outlines the elements of change and continuity in her foreign relations following her war experiences - elements important to an understanding of subsequent Norwegian policy, including the EEC referendum in September 1972.
