A Reader's Guide to T. S. Eliot

The present edition, revised since the death of T. S. Eliot, includes a newly written epilogue summing up the basic themes and significance of Eliot's work. This poem-by-poem analysis has come to be regarded as an indispensable guide for readers interested in Eliot's poetry. Professor Williamson treats his subject with great precision. Documenting his analyses with ample quotes from the poems and essays, he elucidates the structure and meaning of Eliot's masterpieces. To facilitate use of the volume, the poems have been analyzed in chronological order, following their arrangement in Collected Poems, 1909-1962.
