Oxford Pocket School Thesaurus

Серия: "-"

This is a fresh new look for the 2007 edition of the Oxford Pocket School Thesaurus. It contains 150, 000 synonyms and up-to-date example sentences - that is all the text of the Oxford School Thesaurus in pocket format yet still with an extremely accessible page design. This authoritative thesaurus is an ideal companion to the comprehensive Oxford Pocket School Dictionary. Each entry is in alphabetical order, with its word class and a broad range of imaginative synonyms and supporting example sentences. Guidewords at the top of each page and the full alphabet with a tab on the letter of the page make it very easy to navigate; the page design is clear and straightforward. It features 50 useful tinted panels that give an increased number of synonyms for words that are often overused, for example put, nice, or say. There are also almost 90 topic panels - themes that students are often writing about. These focus on vocabulary connected to the topic, for example, when writing about the weather there are general words to do with the weather, meteorological instruments, words to do with air pressure, to do with rain or other precipitation, to do with sky and clouds, to do with temperature or to do with wind. A wealth of material in a very handy package.
