The basic task of the international edition of the periodical SURVEY is to enable those readers to get an as exhaustive as possible and well documented insight into the problems of cultural development within the area of Yugoslav society and also to contribute to a better knowledge of the complexity and specific features of building self-management socialism, as well as to arouse interest in scientific, cultural and other cooperation and exchange of experience, to encourage even closer contacts with al! individuals, peoples, nationalities and countries whose work, in various parts of the present world is aimed at fostering human values, safeguarding world peace, promoting relations and improving conditions of human existence, on the basis of independence, equality and non-alignment of countries and nations.
