Книга: John Stuart Mill «Utilitarianism»
This essay was written by John Stuart Mill in 1861 and was first published in that year as a series of three articles in Fraser's Magazine for Town and Country; two years later it would go on to be published how it appears in this volume - as a single collection. The work is a philosophical defense of utilitarianism in ethics and although Mill addressed similar ethical principles in his other work (such as On Liberty) this was his only major discussion of the fundamental grounds for utilitarian ethical theory.
