Amistad
La amistad, que en sí misma es un lazo sagrado, se hace más sagrada con la adversidad.
Amor
El amor es la más noble flaqueza del espíritu.
El amor tiene mil maneras de hacernos dichosos, pero tiene muchas más de robarnos el sosiego.
Arte
La obra de teatro debe ser una imagen justa y vivaz de la naturaleza humana.
Dar
El secreto placer de un acto generoso es el mayor placer de un espíritu elevado.
Defecto
Los defectos, como las pajas, sobrenadan en la superficie; el que quiera encontrar perlas, debe sumergirse.
Derecho
No hay ley escrita, por pura y clara que sea, que el ingenio y la malicia no oscurezcan.
Honradez
Son de más valor la honradez y el talento que la riqueza.
Locura
Hay un placer en la locura que sólo los locos conocen.
Vida
Feliz quien puede llamar suyo el día en que vive y para sus adentros piensa: mañana Dios dirá, porque ya viví hoy.
