Аудиокнига: Erskine Childers «The Golden Age of Detective Fiction. Part 5 (аудиокнига MP3)»
"The Riddle of the Sands" by Erskine Childers is one of the best spy novels in the world. Written in 1902 "The Riddle of the Sands" is an astonishing work. Not only is it an exciting adventure story but its central theme, that of a pair of amateur sailors is described with the accuracy, care and love of a man who truly knows his subject. In many ways it foreshadows the modern "Techno-adventure" novel. It also makes the remarkable forecast, (for that time) that a European war was imminent, a prophesy which sadly was true. In his all too short and adventurous life Childers produced few works. "The Riddle of the Sands" gives us a taste of what might have been had he only lived longer. Издательство: "1С-Паблишинг" (2009)
