Diamant started her writing career in 1975 as a freelance journalist, for which she won awards. Her articles have been published in the "
She branched out into books with the release of "The New Jewish Wedding" published in 1985. Her debut as a novelist came in 1997 with "The Red Tent". She has published two further novels, "Good Harbour" and "The Last Days of Dogtown", a fictionalised account of life in a dying
Diamant is also the founding president of Mayyim Hayyim: Living Waters Community Mikveh and Education Center, a community based ritual bath located in Newton, Massachusetts.
She currently lives in Boston, is married and has one grown-up daughter.
