The untreated dyes in effluents from dyeing factories and leather industries are a group of hazardous chemicals as well as important sources of water pollution. Dyes undergo chemicals as well as biological changes in the aquatic system, consume dissolved oxygen and thus interrupt the aquatic echo- system. This method provided an economical and fast approach in the mineralization of textile pollutants and could be useful for the large scale photo- degradation of the industrial effluents.
