Endothelial dysfunction occurs in various states such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, Hyperlipidimia, Atherosclerosis, Metabolic Syndrome (Insulin resistant states). The coexistence of obesity, glucose intolerance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension, is termed as Insulin Resistance Syndrome (IRS, Metabolic Syndrome, Syndrome X).
