The Manahara River flows over Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts (topo sheets: 2785 06A, 2785 06B, 2785 02D, 2785 03 C, 2785 07A; latitude from 27 40`00`N to 27 47`3`N and longitude 85 20`00`E to 85 32`30`E). The total length of the river is 31km, which extends from northeast towards southeast and confluences with the Bagmati River. The style and degree of meandering depends on a number of geological factors, including tectonics. The general objective of the study is to find out the meandering pattern of the river. For this four years river patterns (1989, 1995, 2001 and 2007) were gathered with help of Topo-sheet and Google earth. The pattern was compared and analyzed by using GIS software (Arc View GIS 3. 3), AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel. Study gave the river has been mostly shifted to NNW direction. The maximum shifting distance was found to be approximately 330m which is meandered to eastward direction in account of river trail of 1989. Bank caving is one of the main causes of river... Nabin Bhattarai

Nabin K. Bhattarai (born March 14, 1974, in Kathmandu, Nepal) is a singer.[1]

He has won the 'Sajha Smriti Award' for Best Male Vocalist on two occasions, first for Preetka Geet (Raharai Raharama) and then for Aankha ma Timilai. He also won Album of the Year Award for Raharai Raharama. He further won the 'Shikhar Hits FM Music Award 2054 B.S.' as the Best Male Vocal for Saanja Pakha. His album 'Avash' is arguably one of the most popular albums of all time in Nepal's modern music industry. He has won several Hits FM Awards.[2] Some of his notable hits include 'Sajha Pakha', 'Timilai Ma Dobato Maa', 'Timile Herda Kasailai', 'Timilai Bhetne','Chaina Joona', 'Yaad Le Timro' and many others. He is considered to be the first real popstar of Nepal with a huge number of fans.

Personal Life

Painting, sports and listening music were his interest since childhood and they still are. As soon as he graduated high school from Budhanilkantha, he established a band 'The steels Wheel' with some of his friends. Nabin was the rhythm guitarist in the band.Band performed few concerts but was largely unkwon in the mainstream. All the band members except Nabin left Nepal for career abroad.However the band acted as the catalyst in his musical career. As per his personal interest, he recorded his first song 'Aakhama Timilai' which was an instant hit.

Later he contributed a lot in Nepali music. As a result he was rewarded with different awards. The man with huge fan following was himself a fan of Pink Floyd and was highly inspired by his music although Nepali people loved him as a sentimental singer. He is not only a singer but a good music composer too. One of the most popular and the hit album of Nabin are ‘Avash’ then comes other like, G-Major, Smriti, Smriti Re-loaded etc. His latest album ‘Nakshetra’ has just hit the market a month back.

Nabin got married with Nabina Rajbhandari on June 23rd, 2010.
