A Tradition Of Abstinence And Ritual Identity

Производитель: "LAP Lambert Academic Publishing"

This exposition deals with Remba taboos and rituals. The study has made use of the Phenomenological method to interpret data based on field research which has opened up new avenues to the understanding of the Remba history and traditions. The study has concluded that the Sadiki-Remba are indeed of a tradition of abstinence and ritual identity, of which the taboos and rituals are but the visible outward expressions of a fertile religion. Field research has however revealed some important disparities with the claims put forward by earlier authorities in the area in relation to social stratification and traditional political leadership.
