RAINN

The Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), is the largest anti-sexual assault organization in the United States of America. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline and carries out programs to prevent sexual assault, help victims, and to ensure that rapists are brought to justice.

The National Sexual Assault Hotline (1.800.656-HOPE) is a partnership of more than 1,100 local rape crisis centers that provides sexual assault victims with free, confidential services around the clock. The hotline helps 140,000 sexual assault victims a year and has had more than one million calls since 1994. The National Sexual Assault Online Hotline, currently in its pilot phase at [http://www.rainn.org www.rainn.org] , is the first secure web-based crisis hotline providing live and anonymous support in an instant messaging format.
