Dan Abnett (* 12. Oktober 1965) ist ein britischer Autor.

Leben
Seinen Abschluss als Redakteur machte er in Oxford. Bekannt wurde Abnett hauptsächlich durch seine Warhammer 40k-Romane und seine Arbeit als Comicautor, unter anderem für 2000 AD, DC Comics und Marvel Comics). Er lebt in Maidstone, Kent.
Werke
Romane
Von den Romanen der Warhammer 40,000-Reihe erschienen bei Black Library von 1999 bis 2007 23 Bücher. Die elf deutschen Übersetzungen der Reihe erschienen beim Heyne-Verlag.
Die ebenfalls bei Black Libary erschienene Warhammer Fantasy-Reihe umfasst neun Bände, die von 2001 bis 2007 herauskamen. Der Piper Verlag brachte bislang vier Bände davon auf Deutsch heraus. Des Weiteren erschien bei BBC Books der Roman Torchwood.
Comics
Seit 1991 ist Dan Abnett für die wöchentlich erscheinende, britische Comiczeitschrift 2000 AD als Comicskripter tätig. Für 2000 AD wirkte er unter anderem an Judge Dredd, Sancho Panzer und Black Atlantic mit.
Im Black Library-Verlag hat Dan Abnett seit 2001 an Comic-Serien wie Titan: God-Machine, Imperial Gothic und Forge of War mitgewirkt. Für Boxtree hat Dan Abnett 1996 den Comic Terminator 2: Cybernetic Dawn geschrieben.
Seit 1997 ist er für DC Comics als Comicautor tätig und dabei unter anderem an Batman, Resurrection Man und Superman mitgewirkt. Seit 1988 ist Dan Abnett immer wieder als Comicskripter für Marvel Comics tätig für die er unter anderem an Iceman und James Bond Jr. mitschrieb.
