Producing career
Ross has produced several films starting with the 1988 film "Big", which he co-produced. Ross produced more films, including "Trial and Terror" (1997) and "Pleasantville" (1998), which he also wrote and directed. In 2003, he produced the film "Seabiscuit", about the legendary race horse. In the year 2008 he will produce three films, "The Tale of Despereaux", "Creature From the Black Lagoon" and "The Free State of Jones".
Writing career
Ross started writing in 1988 with "Big", in which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. In 1992, he wrote the screenplay for "Mr. Baseball". In 1993, he wrote the screenplay for "Dave", for which he was also nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards. In 1994, he wrote the Screenplay for "Lassie". He also wrote the screenplay for the movie "Pleasantville", which he also directed. In 2003, he wrote, directed and produced "Seabiscuit", for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2008, he will write the screenplay for three films, "The Tale of Despereaux", "Creature From the Black Lagoon" and "The Free State of Jones".
Directing career
Ross started directing with the film "Pleasantville", which was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design and Best Original Score. In 2003, he directed, produced and wrote the film "Seabiscuit", which was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. In 2008, he will direct the film "The Tale of Despereaux", and is rumored to begin work on "The Free State of Jones". And is now working on a novel, "Everlost".
