Mercy Amba Oduyoye (1995),states `A Church that consistently ignores the implications of the gospel for the lives of women and other underclass cannot continue to an authentic voice for salvation` (182). The ecclessiology of the people of God is a better model of the Church because of its emphasis on equality,and full participation of all members, clergy and laity. The deprivation of women`s rights cannot be allowed in the 21st century, it is the role of the Church more especially in Africa, to liberate women from their systematic oppressions.
